Antonio Carlos Jobim's Corcovado, sung in English as Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars, entered Oscar Peterson's repertoire with the bossa nova wave of the sixties and never left it; his trio recording on We Get Requests remains one of the tune's classic jazz treatments.
The performance transcribed here keeps that manner: an even bossa sway, the melody voiced in silky block chords, and Peterson's ornamentation applied with unusual restraint.
